What is your position at HopeLab?
Visual Communication Designer
What brought you to HopeLab?
Honestly, it was serendipity. I thought I was going to move to Thailand, and needed a temporary gig before I made the big transition. Needless to say, I never ended up moving overseas and found HopeLab instead. No regrets!
What keeps you at HopeLab? What keeps me here is the authenticity, integrity, compassion, thoughtfulness, gratitude, leadership, joy, respect, and fun of being here. I have a deep respect for all the people I work with, and that makes for a vibrant and life-giving workplace.
Life Before HopeLab?
Peninsula Habitat for Humanity, Springboard Forward, UC Santa Cruz (BA, Cultural Anthropology and the hippie lifestyle)
Fun fact?
I used to hate running (up until Sept 2008), but now I'm training to run my first ultramarathon. When the shift happened, people kept saying I had a "Forest Gump" kind of transformation. I ran my first marathon at Big Sur on April 26, 2009, and got to celebrate the achievement with my running inspiration, Charlie Engle. I am so hooked!
