A New Re-Mission in the Works

June 11, 2009

Since introducting Re-Mission, we’ve been conducting research and talking to young cancer patients and health professionals to understand what works about the game – and what we can improve. Today at the Games for Health conference in Boston, we announced a collaboration with game developer Virtual Heroes to create the next version of Re-Mission. The project is supported in part by HopeLab partners Vivendi, the Annenberg Foundation, and the Lance Armstrong Foundation.

Why a new Re-Mission?
Games for Health - Announcing New Re-Mission

  • Each year, nearly 70,000 teens and young adults are diagnosed with cancer, and we’re committed to helping them fight their disease.
  • The first Re-Mission demonstrates that a specially designed video game can have positive impact in these areas.
  • We think we can build a new version that’s even more fun, engaging and effective than the original.
  • We’re now exploring creative concepts for the game with Virtual Heroes, testing them with the real experts – young cancer patients – and planning future research to ensure the next Re-Mission delivers the same positive impact on health as the first.
